hi all i am wanting your views on my latest venture to house my G.pigs. I am having a purpose built shed and run built that will be 10ft x 6ft they will be free to roam around this space and for the winter i will put a heat lamp inside. I will use hay as the main bedding and there will be a 2 storey hutch in the shed that will be left open so they can go in and out at their leisure. I at present have a hutch of 8 girls and one boy, i want to add my 2 other boys (once neutered) and my 2 other seperate girls, however i am wondering if 3 neutered boys are too much for 11 girls and i am welcome to any suggestions you may have for this or any ideas for what i can do with my shed. Thanks@)

Great that you're getting a shed. It sounds fab. :) Unfortunately you can only have one male in with a group of girls. The boys would fight and possibly kill each other.

Yeah, there's a very good chance the boys would fight over the girls. But other than that, it sounds great!

Thanks guys i did think that this would be the case, its a shame that my 2 separate boys will have to stay in their hutch and not move into the shed though.

Could you not move the boys hutches in to the shed but not let them out with the girls? Alicia on here has 2 separate boys in her shed in hutches and she just rotates the times they get to free range

My boys are side by side in 2 separate runs in the shed and my girls live next door to them in a big long run.

I like that idea, do you think it will work if i rotate the boys? the one boy has lived with the herd of 8 girls for about 2 years, will it not upset things if i put him in a hutch every now and then to let the other boys out with the girls, will it not upset the harmony of the herd? any advice would be great cause if i could make it work i would be over the moon. xx
