Hi there, I am hoping someone can help. I was cleaning the cage tonight and noticed one of my pigs humping another. When purchased I was told I had all males however I am now thinking I have a female as well. I have tried to sex them but am just not sure. Is anyone able to confirm.

Hi and welcome

You have got two boars. It however always good to double check the gender of any new piggies because we see sadly see quite a few cases of mis-sexing or surprise babies from pet shop pregnancies on here.
Here is our sexing guide, so you can learn how to sex piggies properly yourself without having to rely on other people's judgement - not everybody you expect to be knowledgeable is actually. It is not the worst life skill to acquire!
Illustrated Sexing Guide

Please be aware that mounting is not just a sexual behavious but also and mainly a mild socially interactive dominance behaviour that is practised by both genders; but more so by boars.

You can learn more about behaviours, spotting key social interactive behaviours and dynamics, dominance and boar specials in these guides here, which you will hopefully find very helpful in learning to understand what is going on.

Thank you so much for confirming this, relived to have it confirmed.
I had read that but made me doubt it but appreciate you confirming this and send the guides. ]

Thanks

We are here for confirmation.

Just check whether you can feel the tiny penis shaft bump under the skin just above penis tip and check for the straight boar slit and compare it to the reference pictures next time you do the life-long weekly health monitoring weigh-in and body onceover (including a quick check of the boar bits every 1-4 weeks, depending on how mucky your boys are).

You may find these guides below very helpful for learning what is normal for your boys and then being able to sport any major changes or any slowly developing problems later on in life. A regular weigh-in and health check can save lives when you can have a problem dealt with before it becomes an emergency. Loss of weight is often the first symptom of a developing health issue.
