Hello! This question has been asked on here a lot going by Google searches, but I can't see recent ones. Do you know any guinea pig safe paint? I want to paint a few grids red. I'd prefer a place I can buy it offline (B&Q maybe?). Thanks :)

the two recommended ones are cuprinol garden shades and wilkos own brand garden range. these are for wood though so not sure it would work with grids. as far as i know, there are no safe ones that would work for that material :)

Thank you :) But in that case, how did they make the grids white? The white has been scraped off a little with a few grids.

i would think it is a powder coating perhaps but not too sure. i wouldn't risk adding any other chemicals to the grids personally though. but then i am over the top cautious! :))

Heh, I'll leave it for now. Maybe contact the people who make them? There is a site that says they were the creators, but I can't be too sure

Are these safe enough to paint a wooden piggy house with, which will be in their cage & may get chewed?

i have seen people use it on wooden houses and inside hutches so assume it's ok if they had the odd little nibble. i don't think i'd be comfortable with it personally but i do over-worry alot :)
