Hello, I own two male guinea pigs Calvin and Hobbes. I adopted them 1 - 2 years ago the shelter was unaware of their age so I sadly do not know their current exact age. Today Hobbes squeaked loudy and I found Calvin in the hut with him, I picked Hobbes up and my placed him on my stomach because I was laying down and Hobbes seemed to tumble off and land on my bed. I picked him up and placed him back in the cage but he tumbled over on his back when he walked it looks like he limps a bit and when I pick him up his bottom half feels almost limp? Hobbes now lays down and rarely has gotten up I tried to feel his back to see if I could feel anything but nothing but his hip felt strange. Could it be possibly that it was dislocated? If anybody could please give me their advice or knowledge on this situation I would be so grateful I’m really worried about him. image.webp

You need to get him to a vet urgently.
Is he eating for himself? If he isn’t, then you need to step in with syringe feeding him to stop his system from shutting down. If he can’t move very easily but will still eat for himself, then ensure hay and other food is placed next to him so he doesn’t have to move to eat.
Please do get him to a vet though

:agr: an urgent vet trip is needed. Please let us know what the vet says.

thank you all the for the replies and advice, sadly he passed and my poor Calvin kept trying to get over to him. I really wish I brought him to the emergency vet but late last night I had no way of transportation to get him there. :( My friends and family keep telling me his in a better place and that he’s not hurting anymore but It still hurts.
