Hello, I've recently got my boar Marco to bond with my other piggy. But I've started to notice that he would rock back and forth on his hind legs. I've tried looking it up but I've come up with nothing. Has anyone else had the same thing happen, if so can you tell me If I need to take him somewhere?

( If you don't know what I'm talking about, you know how a cat moves it's back legs when it goes to pounce on something? That's what it looks like. )

Is he making any sound with it? Boars especially rumble-strut, purring while moving their weigh from one side to the other. It is a measuring up between boars, displaying their prowess to sows; but it is also a mild dominance behaviour by both genders, depending on the situational context.

If you are worried, please take a video and upload it on a public setting in a place that is accessible without registration (like youtube); then copy across into your post. We are entirely run by voluntary member donations and do not have a video uploading facility. It is our one drawback (in the face of a great number of advantages) of not being part of social media.

You may find out A-Z of guinea pig behaviours helpful. We all perceive and describe behaviours very differently, which makes it tricky for us to interpret correctly which behaviour you are talking about.

Okay thank you!

A video would be great, but one of the signs I missed when it comes to arthritis was that he would try to get up, fail, try again, fail, try again, fail, and then roll onto his fat. I may be imposing my bias given what I'm going through now, but yeah, a video would be helpful!
