Hello,
For 2 year or so know my guinea pig has had a snuffly noise periodically , she gets it about once a month. I thought it was the bedding so I put my guinea pigs on a new bedding. Then she didn’t have the problem, till now. I woke up this morning and she had it again. It’s worse when you pick her up. I think it’s in her lungs , What should I do?

Please take her to the vet and get her checked out.
I would but our vet is only accepting “emergency’s” and because she’s had it for two years they wouldn’t accept her!

If you explain your concerns and that you think it’s her lungs then I’m sure they would see her. Has she been to the vets before about this problem?

Hi!

If you worry about a respiratory infection, you need to see a vet for an antibiotic. there is no way around that. Untreated URI's can kill or permanently damage.
New guinea pigs can have a sensitivity to hay dust or the many irritants in a human home but it is for a vet to decide what is going on. We can't do that for you.
