Hi,
I know guinea pigs eat the soft poops and that is normal etc. However, what do these poos look like? Do they look different to normal poos?
Basically, I had to give my Pixie a bum bath (he's a long haired boy and gets all sorts trapped in his bum fur!)
And whilst I was towel drying a very unhappy Pixie (he really does not like bum baths!) I noticed these smaller poos, that looked more wet than normal poos, but also smaller in size and a different shape. He wasn't eating them, I think me having hold of him and drying him he obviously wasn't able to do the whole bending down to get them that they usually do. However, after I stopped the motion of drying and we were having some snuggly lap time (was trying to get him to love me again after his bathing, I'm pretty sure he thinks it's like the end of the world or something even though its just a few minutes of bum washing!) he was enjoying the cuddles and got more comfortable and then walked around the towel he was on and ate all these weird looking poos.
Was this him just picking up and eating the poos as he couldn't get them whilst they were coming out "fresh" and he didn't want to lose the nutrients? Do these edible poos always look different to normal poos? I tried to Google this but there's not many pictures of these edible guinea poos!
Also his cage mate, lancelot was very unhappy his younger brother wasn't in the cage with him (because he was having a bath!) and when I put pixie back in, lancelot went over and barbered him a little bit, this was the first time I have seen this happen, is this just affection? Was lancelot so happy to see his brother he decided to give him a little trim? He literally did only a tiny bit of hair when pixie came back? Or maybe, Lancelot wasn't impressed with the job I did on Pixie, and decided to "fix it"
They are such weird and wonderful little piggies with all their own personalities, I really love them but they do get me curious sometimes!
