Hi there. Just asking for some advice, firstly I have 2 young guinea pigs ( about 8 months old) , ones called mocha and ones called truffle, both boys. I've had them since they were about 12 weeks. They took a couple of days to settle in but after that they've seemed happy. They get on well even thou mocha is still slightly timid, but generally seem to enjoy each other's company. However the other day I noticed mocha biting / nibbling truffle ( who is the dominant one ) on the back, it didn't seem to bother truffle, but was just wondering if this is normal or the start of aggressive behaviour?

Thanks

Ok thanks I'll have a read. I thought it might be was more curious because it was the less dominate guinea pig nibbling the dominate one

Ear nibbling is freindly dominance, eye or body nuzzling a sign of affection.

Barbering (hair nibbling) is a social interaction that can have different meanings depending on the circumstances:
Barbering ( Eating Hair)

It could be barbering (chewing the other guinea pig's fur.) My short-haired pig (submissive) barbers her dominant long-haired cagemate intermittently... drives me nuts because Hadley has such lovely fur and it takes it months to grow back in, and as soon as it does Sundae starts eating it again!

Ah thanks mocha ( the submissive one ) seems to have stopped now and I only noticed him once or twice , and I haven't noticed this for a few days now
