Guinea pig needs a friend

Hi, not sure if there is anything that can be done but though here would be the best place to ask.

My cousin (still in HS) had a guinea pig pass away recently. It seems that her dad doesn’t want to get another pig to accompany the bereaved girl. I think the rest of the family are happy to get a second pig again, and understand she needs a friend

Does anyone have any advice on how to start making him open to the idea of another guinea pig?

I understand that there may be nothing I can do, but I want to do my best to help the lonely piggy
