Hi! I have 2 guinea pigs and only one house. So basically I just made a hidey house out of a shoe box (my only solution) and the problem is the guinea pig thats in the box always moves it and it's getting into their food and it's also running into another house with another guinea pig in it. What should I do?

Piggies like to rearrange their cage/hutch to where they think items should be as opposed to where you want them to be.

A box is a great idea for a hidey.
Lucy and Harry have several wooden houses that they regulary flip and lay next to, as well as somehow pushing them around the cage?
It's a piggy thing, and I actually find it quite cute, but I also don't see any real way of stopping them doing it.

Carrying their houses around with them can be a sign of a pig that isn't totally comfortable being out in the open.

My Podrick is quite an anxious boy so he has a paper bag that he carries around the cage on his back so he's always under over. He must feel safer that way. He does pee and poo all over it and it gets into his food and water, but it's what he enjoys doing. I just replace it every week or so.

Thanks for your answers! They're actually starting not move it as much now!👍

Moving stuff is normal piggy behaviour. You will get used to it. Mine like to tip the boxes over and pee on them.😀
