Guinea Pig Maze

Can't say I've ever tried any of my lot in a maze. They don't strike me as the kind of animals to enjoy mazes - they like the lazy life! They do like tunnels, however :))

I made a maze out of video's once to check if one of my guinea pigs was blinde. He had a ton of fun in it but once I put his brother in, Gilbert knocked them all over. :))

They love tunnels - especially when there are lots of entries and exits.

I use pvc underground pipe from the local builders merchants (comes in a 3m length I think) - they even cut it for me in the lengths I needed (some small, some long) xoxo then I use cardboard boxes as the joining bits. The pvc lasts forever and is easy to clean and I just use cardboard boxes from the supermarket so when they are chewed I just get some more and make a new maze :))

Have though about using underground pipe. It is very expensive to buy brand new, but I have a local recycling scrap store that has sold off cuts of pipe in the past, so will have to check again.

Pizza boxes! When I was with my OH he was always eating pizza from the supermarkets, and the boxes they come in are the perfect size to squash into tunnells and thin enough to cut holes in and stick them together to form a maze.

Rodney loved them, especially as I use to hide little bits of veg in them :) I love the sound his little feet used to make running through them rolleyes

:)Arrr they will love that.

You need to put them in different places though, as Rodders knew exactly where to go for the treats after 1 day....he was such a clever little piglet.:)

Big books were another tunnell treat....opened and stood so they were like tunnels (hope that makes sense) they were perfect, ive got a lot of books with nibbled pages :)

I think they'd love that, but make it so that it can be taken apart, in case they don't want to come out :))
