A place for relaxation and play either separate from cage or extension from cage

I think so, based on the description you give.
Mine have a run that attaches to the cage, and they can come and go when the run is set up for them. They have tunnels and something of interest, such as a new cardboard box with pellets in, or a paper bag with hay etc. I try to give them something that I will occupy their attention.

Is that similar to Rosie's lounge? :)

When i was little, I had barbie furniture that was big enough for a guinea pig (at least for decoration!) So I put it in the lounge. I will show you a pic of Rosie's lounge in a little bit

Not yet, but I'm planning on making a "kitchen area" for the guinea so their other area is for them to relax or do laps in. Going to make a new cage next week as well :)

I only give Rosie the best! She is the star of 8 threads, so she's a big hit:)

Rosie's cage is split into three levels on a vertical scale. She doesn't like the bottom floor. The middle floor is the bathroom and bedroom, and the top is the kitchen.

Mine are on different levels too, I don't know whether you would call it a kitchen or a dining area, but they each have an area for their hay and pellets, and the rest of the cage things that they like, such as fleece 'beds' (though they don't look like beds, they are snuggly for the pigs), tunnels and hidies. Any idea why she isn't keen on the bottom floor?

I call it both. It's basically the same thing to me.

Some people put fairy lights on the dark floors :) Obviously somewhere your guinea can't get them XD

I don't have floors, not enough room in my case, sadly.

Ah I see what you mean, and those are the red cups that she likes to play with. So the hay goes in the bottom I assume? Do you hide treat under the cups for her to tip up and find :)

Is her lounge normally part of her cage or something you get ready for her when she's out and having time with you? It's nice to give them different experiences like that, inside and when they're out :) You get to know what they really like the best. I like to collect cardboard boxes for mine to explore.
I have two that like lap-time (or out time on my knee) and two that don't. I like to put different things on the settee for mine to find some times, like a new box, or a treat, or a pile of material, or a towel to tunnel under.... I'll try to do the same things for their run too.
Some things are ignored though. For example, some guinea pigs enjoy jingly bell-balls (those light-weight plastic ones for cats), but none of mine ever have. I have tended to eliminate the things they are not interested in to give them as much space as possible, indoors and out :) If they don't use it, it goes :)
I think I might try getting a plastic cup and hiding something tasty in it. They might like that idea :)

No. Her lounge is separate but she loves it and it is part of her schedule.

They might also like it by itself.
