Today when I took my guinea pigs out of their cage I noticed that one of guinea pigs were limping and had his hand held into his body. He usually isn't the most active Pig, but he is usually very happy and likes to play with my other pig. Today he seems sad and won't move unless he is forced (with little nudges). Do you have any idea what could've caused this and should I take him to the vet. Also he is 6 months old now.

Please get your piggy seen by the vet. He may be in a little pain. Hopefully just a sprain.

Hi!

It looks like a sprain in one of the front legs. If you have any concerns, please see a vet. Your piggy may be happier with a painkiller/anti-inflammatory.

Unfortunately my local vet is closed Sundays, I'll take him in Monday morning. I think it is just a sprain hopefully. He seems to be eating very well and his mate has'nt been picking on him to much.

What do you mean by picking on him? There You’ll find that sometimes piggies actually become ‘carers’ when their friend is ill.

That's what I mean, usually they like nipping at each other, but he seems like he's not try to provoke him too much now.

Do they live together all the time or just play together? Nipping is okay as long as it doesn’t go further. Hope you get him sorted soon 😊

They live together, usually they nip at each other when they want the other one's treat🥕.

taking food from each other is very normal 🙄
