i’m so sorry for your loss, i know this was a year ago but do u remember if your guinea pig was cold and pooing/ weeing a lot during this time? my piggy’s unfortunately laying on his side and moving his legs a lot like he’s trying to run but can’t get up he’s also weeing/pooing and cold. i’ve tried to call the vets on 3 different devices for an hour but there too busy so i’m not sure what to do now. a reply will mean so much as i’m clueless what to do in this situation now x

We can obviously only go by your written description but sounds like his body might be shutting down. We cannot tell you with certainty though and this guide below may help with further information as to what to do at this time, and when a vet is not available.

I’m so sorry your piggy is poorly. Keep them calm and warm. Unfortunately I also think they may be heading over the rainbow bridge. I’m so sorry.

Is there any vets close? honestly i would just drive to one, they might not be getting the full picture over the phone but if they see your pigs condition they should admit as an emergency

thank you, i made sure he was comfortable and sat with him until his final moments but unfortunately he didn’t make it. i’m not sure what caused this tho as he was fine the day before and there’s been no changes in his diet/ eating and has plenty of space to run with his brother.

thank you for your support, he passed peacefully a few hours after i posted this yesterday.

I’m so sorry. At least he passed at home with you and his brother with him. He would have taken comfort in that. Take care ❤️
