Guinea pig jumping

Hi how high are guinea pigs supposed to jump?

The can jump about a 12 inches

One of mine pigs jumps on to the roof of his hut which sits about 8 inches off the ground.

I’ve had one that jumped about 1 1/2 feet off the ground regularly (we had to catch her like a rugby ball!) but I think she was unusual! I have a 24cm barrier to stop my current lot getting into the living room from the dining room and they don’t even try, but I think they could if they wanted to.

Athletic piggy!

As I say one of mine will jump on top of his hut roof and due to that I have my grids two high. The other piggy is too lazy to leave the ground!

@Piggies&buns I'm just so shocked I thought they couldn’t jump high and then he just kept jumping over the Barrier so we had to make it higher and kept jumping over it

Comet leapt over the arm of my sofa once, and it was about as tall as he was long. Not very far in comparison to some, but they can jump.

Unfortunately the other side of the sofa arm was a good deal further off the ground and he was lucky I was there to flail and catch him. He could be a bit of a dolt.
