Guinea pig jumping myth

I was always told that guinea pigs can't jump. I've never felt to need to test this out, but have had experiences of my guineas going over a foot while running and nearly a foot from static. Has anyone else experienced this? They almost made it out of the bath during bath time, and have cleared a stack of DVDs put next to their cage, almost the height of a nero 2. We regularly let them out, for which they have to jump out of the cage was a nero 2, now a nero 4, so I'm not sure if we have accidently given them steorid strength legs. Anyone else got super guineas?
 
my guinea pig max jumps fromt he floor onto the sofa, then up the back of the sofa then jumps up onto me when I'm standing behind it! the jump to the sofa is about 60cms so a fair distance!
 
One of my sows, Violet, is mad! She jumps, climbs and launches herself!

And she is only 10 weeks old bless her! :)
 
I recently had a litter of six due to a jumping boar, I had never witnessed him jump prior and assumed the divide was sufficient untill I found him In with the girls laying on his side looking spent and rather pleased with himself.
 
Ohh yes piggies can jump..here is my amazing Daisy jumping
(dont worry this was a very rare occasion!, i never forced her to jump, she done it out of her own free will while running and playing, i simply just popped a jump in the way, and over she went!:))

Eliza can jump but Connie can't. Eliza will sit on my knee and jump on to my shoulder where as Connie will just sit there looking confused. Eliza can jump up the stairs until she's at the top where as Connie will attempt to climb one stair then just sit there calling for Eliza to come back down :) I think it is all down to the individual pig.

My piggies can climb the stairs as well :))
 
Oh I know they can jump.
Blaze and Cinder will jump onto their house; they'll also jump of their nice fluffy ramp Spice did too. Flame however is such a timid pig he will only try and run away
 
Oh yes, piggies jump no problem....most of them prefer to be on the ground though and only jump if they have to.
In the wild they have to jump to get into the hidey holes to get aways from predators and the ground is very rocky.
 
Thats a fab pic! 2 of mine can jump their C&C, defo a myth about them not being able to jump! x
 
Radley can clear 1 foot easily as he jumped out of his C&C pen! :(|)
