Hi everyone! I'm looking for a hutch for my guinea pigs, but have been searching for seven hours in total and have still not found the perfect hutch, I would be thrilled if you lot could maybe recommend your hutches, here are my requirements:

Two-tier
A ramp going down to the bottom floor that can be shut off at night
The bottom floor needs to be raised off the ground ever so slightly
Preferably under £100 but if this hutch is amazing I may consider pushing my budget
Has a rain cover AND thermal cover that can be bought separately (or with hutch) that fits the hutch perfectly
Strong and VERY DURABLE, it needs to be able to withstand a harsh climate and strong winds
It needs to last a long time

If you have a hutch that matches most of those requirements, I would be thrilled to be given a link so I can buy it too!

I have the bluebell from pets at home (can be bought online) for my guinea pigs. They live in the hutch in my shed, so I’m not certain how it would stand to being outside. Two tier but can’t be shut off, but I am sure it would be easy enough to modify so that it could be closed at night. It has covers that fit it, but they aren’t enough to keep hutches that are fully outside warm during the winter (they aren’t enough to keep my boys warm in the shed so I use several extra covers as well). Is under £100.
I also have a great and small xl from pets corner (available online). This hutch houses my rabbit and it is outside. Has covers that fit it (designed specifically for it, but again, covers alone aren’t enough to provide warmth). is much stronger than the bluebell and has lasted outside perfectly well for almost seven years so far. It is quite a lot over £100 but it is worth it in my opinion.
The Chartwell hutches are also very very good. Probably looking closer to £200 for some of those though. In my opinion it is very difficult to get a good enough hutch for under £100 particularly if it need to be completely outside (ie not in a shed).

Betsy has the same hutch as me which is the chartwell. It meets your requirements and goes up to 6ft long so I would go for the full 6ft if you have space even if it's for just two as the ramp takes up running space. Mines been converted when I had to separate my group into pairs before so they have an enclosed bedroom area downstairs as well as upstairs and my ramp doesn't close off but I believe some versions of the chartwell do. Only the front is mesh, the sides and back are wood so I had no problems leaving the ramp open for them anyway.

Thanks so much for your recommendations! I'll look into the one you got from the pets corner! Thank you!

Thank you! I have previously looked at the hutch you're talking on, on Amazon, although was unsure whether it would be any good for the price as there were some awful reviews, but given I've had a recommendation I might look into guarantees and refunds, I'll definitely consider Chartwell, thank you!

The only quibble I had with mine was that the back board is plywood but I understand some of the more recent ones are more solid. The only other issue I had was mould growing inside on the ceiling of the upstairs level but this is because the roof isn't steep enough and the rain water was sitting on the weatherproof cover. I put a couple of bricks underneath the cover and haven't had an issue since
