We are planning on moving our 2 guinea pigs outside full time they’ve been out during the day for months but we feel the triangle cage we have isn’t big enough and isn’t safe for over night so want to purchase a big hutch with run attached to -can anyone recommend our best option for this many thanks

You are right - the apex runs are not suitable for many reasons, so well done for doing more research!

First, it depends what sex your piggies are -
It all hinges on the hutch measurement given that is considered the only living space, so If you have two sows then you need a 5ft hutch.
If you have two boars then you need a 6ft hutch.

Personally, I would (and do) avoid hutches with runs permanently attached (ie a hutch run combo with the hutch at the top with a ramp that goes down to the run). It makes them hard to move around if necessary, the ramps tend to also be too steep, and instead choose separates which can be used together or independently from each other

They cannot be left in the run overnight regardless of what type you use - always ensure outdoor piggies are locked into a secure hutch overnight and when you arent there to supervise.
Also ensure you monitor the temperature very closely. We are about to get some warm weather again and piggies should not be outside when it is 25 degrees or more, so do ensure you still have the ability to bring them indoors. Hutches and lawn runs can become death traps.

Home and Roost (online) have a good range of hutches with compatible runs which can be used connected in front of the hutch or both used standalone.
