Hi all! Going of on just a bit of a tangeant here, HOW on earth do you hoover up your house i.e. the stray hay, bedding, poo and food without the hoover getting clogged up each time! Is there ANY portable type hoover that can be used that is specifically for things like hoovering up hay WITHOUT the hoover getting clogged up (and the housemates shouting at me for) everytime!

Oh i also wondered if there is any type of quiet water bottle i can use as the one I have could wake the dead...

Thanks!

I've only had pigs for three weeks and my vaccuum cleaner is already having trouble so now I sweep up everything big and vaccuum when there aren't any big pieces that'll get stuck.

I'm also interested in a quiet water bottle, especially since Martha likes playing with it :)

Not a lot of advice, sorry...

I hate to say it but dyson or that type of hoover don;t tend to clog but you do have to empty them regulary

not sure about the water bottle short of changing it for a bowl of water at night time

kitty litter tray scoops work better then a brush for the tough stuff - hay, poopies etc

I have a dyson and after nearly eleven months of hoovering hay I have only had it clogged up once and that was because I was feeling really lazy and thought it approproate to hoover a giant pile of hay that had fallen down the back of the cages. Then when it was sticking out of the hose as wouldn;t go down I Thought I would ram it into the hoover (therefore got stuck half way) :red lol

Dustpan and brush here too for the big stuff. Then hoover all the small bits.

I have a vax and have been clogged up a few times hence the dustpan and brush now.

luckily enough i keep all my animals away from carpets, so a quick sweep of the tiled floors are all thats needed and the hay and dust is gonna. Very easy to wash down too :)

I hoover our room and all the poos etc up every night and it always get blocked at least once every night, but it's no problem to open up and unblock.

I used to pick up all the large stuff hay bits stray veg etc, then use a hand held hoover to swoop up the poop did this a couple of times a day and emptied the wee fella each time, seemed to work okay.

Hi

What's the difference between the Hetty and the Henry (and similar others?)

I bought a Sebo upright as I got fed up with dragging my Miele cylindar hoover around but I hate it. It's too big and bulky. Thinking of going back to a cylindar but want something that won't choke on huge amounts of dog hairs and hay etc every 5 mins!

Isn't hetty pink and henry red? same hoover though? forgive me if I'm wrong.

I pick up bit bits or dust pan them and then vac

yes i have clogs too
