Hi everybody, I have noticed this evening a growth on my guinea pig. It is brown and sticks out almost like a nipple but it is crusty and has a bald patch around it. It is also too far down to be. She is losing hair and has a few mild bald patches and I have now noticed this. Does anybody know what it could be please?

Welcome to the Forum.

From the description it could be any number of things ranging from a skin condition to ovarian cysts.
It is impossible to diagnose based on a description, so she really does need to be seen by a vet for a proper examination and the correct treatment.

Hi and welcome!

Unfortunately, without at least some clear and day-lit pictures that show clear detail (please no fuzzy blobs) as well as the location on the body, we have got too little precise information to go on for more than some wild guessing. Adding crucial background information as to the age and gender of your piggy would also help us a lot to narrow things down. 'Growths' is a very wide field when it comes to guinea pigs...

Please have your piggy seen by a vet for a hands-on examination. If you can find another nipple on the other side of the body, then you are likely dealing with ovarian cysts.
The first picture in our sexing guide includes nipples and their location: Illustrated Sexing Guide
If you have actually a sow with crusty nipples (keep in mind that male also have them and that they are looking pretty much the same in both genders), then you will find our information on ovarian cysts in this link helpful: Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

PS: The best way to upload pictures is via the Attach files underneath your post when you write it.
