Hello

I have just been handling Teddy and she hated it. My guinea pigs don't really liked to be handled/caught but i had picked her up and placed her on my lap and she started attacking the towel. She kept biting it and when i was trying to stroke her she was trying to kick my hand away and was hopping all over my lap. She normally mouths my fingers quite often but as i looked away she bit the side of my hand. I put her back in the cage and she seemed fine. she didnt wee either.

I have had an afternoon of moody pigs i think as one of the babies jumped off my arm and luckily i caught her. So i put Pip straight in the cage after checking she was ok. Perdy was not so bad and weighed her. She just cried a bit.

Then after an age catching Phoebe the mum she was ok but clearly desperate to get back in to the cage. And Percy the baby boy just runs away everytime i go near and hides in the house :-( xx

Is it possible they might have mites? I know this can be very painfull for them (particularly when touching them) But should be easy to treat... just worth thinking about.

I did wonder but shes not scratching alot and i couldnt see anything when i was checking her over, albeit she was not liking being touched.

Might be worth ordering some preventative treatment. But, you know your piggies. I just cant think of anything else right now! lol

no thats good advice, i think i will as its not normal behaviour for her. shes normally quite content sat on my lap eating parsley, shes the easier of them all. thank you :) x
