Well I let my girlfriends rabbit (who is staying with me this year) out of his cage to roam my room and he went over to the guinea pig cage and lay down beside it, this didn't bother me because he wasn't doing anything wrong then Rolo (male guinea) came wandering out of his hidey and lay beside the rabbit on the other side of the cage and started licking his fur, I presume it was grooming and the rabbit just lay there. I left him to it and moved the rabbit away after about 5 minutes, is this normal? I always thought that rabbits and guinea pigs dont get along ?

They can get along they are just not allowed to live together. Rolo obviously liked the bunny. How cute. :)

haha yeah he was grooming him through the bars of the cage ! It shocked me because I automatically presumed that because they aren't allowed to live together they mustn't get along, well looks like the animals proved me wrong ! haha

They cant live together as bunnys have powerful back legs and cab accidently kick a piggy causing internal damage and injury. Also as rabbits are larger and not so timid as a piggy they are known to bully piggys regarding food etc.. It isnt safe to keep them housed together
