guys why my female pig nipples looked like this? i found it larger than usual, her body temperature is kinda hot, hair loss in belly area, but she's still really active and not losing appetite. here's the video
It’s hard to say from a photo what might be wrong. Older sows sometimes have ovarian cysts and enlarged or crusty nipples can be a sign of a hormonal problem. Guinea pigs do also get mammary tumours. Some are cancerous and some non cancerous. Only a vet could tell you for sure. If you are able to take her to a vet, that would be a good idea.
There's always a chance that mammary lumps could be cancerous so it's best to get them seem by a vet as soon as possible. It's not just sow's but boars can get them too. We've had 2 boys in 2 weeks had to have ops to remove them and they've both recovered really well.
