Hi all,
This morning I woke up to find my guinea pig's ear with a small cut in it. The sides of the cut have white crusty stuff on it. I'm not sure what this is or what it is from. I don't know how to insert a picture but it is hard and pretty easy to flick off it looks like dandruff but is crusty and no hair around it

It depends a bit where on the ear it is, and it really is impossible to tell based on a description.

Does your piggy live with a friend?
Could they have had a fight?

Ears are also often the first place you see certain skin conditions, so I would suggest it might be worth seeing a vet for a check up.

Hello and welcome. I agree a vet visit would be needed. There are lots of easily sorted skin problems. So it’s best to get it checked out early in case it gets worse. Good luck.

Hi and welcome

You can best upload any pictures via the attach files button underneath your post when you write it.

Have you had your piggies for long? If not, then you can reclaim your vet fees if it turns out to be something like ringworm (highly contagious fungal skin infection). However, please accept that we cannot diagnose sight unseen, nor are we qualified to. What we can do is tell you when you should see a vet and support you during treatment and recovery with practical tips and moral support.
