guinea pig died

My guinea pig died yesterday morning and i feel like its my fault, i think he died from an illness,but i didnt notice until it was too late. I feel that if i noticed sooner he would have survived, he was still young only 1 year old. He started moving less and slower whenever i took him out the cage, i brushed it of thinking maybe hes tired. Everything else was fine, he ate normally, acted normally in his cage. I feel so guilty for not noticing sooner

I'm so sorry for your loss. For what it's worth, guinea pigs are prey animals and, as such, are really good at hiding illnesses. Please don't blame yourself. ((HUGS)) to you.

Unfortunately guinea pigs hide illness very well and sometimes by the time we notice something is wrong, it’s too late.
Please try not to beat yourself up. Guilt is a normal part of grieving.
Be gentle with yourself
