Hi! I'm new here! I adopted my piggy a few years ago and he and I have bonded very well. He enjoys unlimited Orchard Grass Hay, a measure of pellets each day, and his absolute favorite vegetable which I give him 2 large leaves of every night is organic romaine lettuce (iceberg or spinach are not acceptable substitutes for him! haha). Recently I've noticed his coat has lost a bit of its former silky shine. I think he's going on 4 or 5 years old, so I was wondering if it's normal for his coat to change or is he lacking something in his diet perhaps? Thanks!

i would pop him along to a vet for a check in case there is something going on.
Iceberg lettuce isn’t suitable for piggies anyway and spinach is high in calcium and shouldn’t be fed regularly in any event.

You could add in some small pieces of things like pepper, broccoli and parsley etc. How is his weight? If you don't already you could start to weigh him and note if he is dropping which could indicate a problem.

Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but does he have a lump on his lower jaw/ cheek?
