Guinea pig bump in eye with hair

Hello, I recently got this guinea pig for free from a shelter. I can tell he’s a bit older, but what caught me eye was his unique eye. I asked the place about him but they clearly didn’t know a lot about guinea pigs. They tried telling me he was young but I can tell he is older, especially because I have 5 guinea pigs already. He has a bump or sty in his eye which is growing hair. I cut the hair so it would not poke him in the eye. I also bought some cream for it. I am curious on what it is called and why he has it. I also and curious on what else I should do. This is motley

If your piggy has anything wrong with his eye he needs to see a vet. When you say you "bought some cream for it" was this from a vet?
