The main part of the diet is unlimited amounts of hay. It makes up 75% of their daily diet and they need large piles of it available in the cage at all times.
The only way to know they are eating enough hay is with the routine weekly weight checks. If they are young then they should be gaining weight each week and then stabilise into adulthood.
If they lose weight then they are not eating enough hay and medical steps and interventions are needed.
They can also have one cup of veg and one tablespoon of plain pellets per pig per day
