Hi everybody I’m new to the forum, really looking for some advice if possible. I have three lovely boar guinea pigs who I’ve had now for around 10 months.
I had them of a selling site where they were being kept in a tiny cage, they are around 1 and a half years old now. I’m housing them in a large C & c cage where they have plenty of enrichment and hides they also come out for play time each day.
For the past two weeks now Fred the one pig who has always been a bit more dominant is starting fights with the other two who get on great with each other.
This morning when I gave them their breakfast I noticed Ted the more laid back pig out of the three had two chunks of hair pulled out of him. I checked him out and noticed he’d got a small wound there also, I cleaned it throughly and put him back but kept an eye out.
Then this afternoon I heard them squabbling when I checked Fred had bitten Ted a second time on his back, this one looks worse than the one before but thankfully not bleeding. I’ve bathed the wound and have tried to separate the two for the night.
Does anybody have any advice on what I should do I can’t decide if to separate them and keep the two together who get on well and Fred on his own with a divider between or should I leave them together. Any advice would be very appreciated thank you :).

Hi, welcome to the forum. so sorry to let you know that boar trios very rarely work out. I would separate the one causing the upset and keep the two together who get along. Then you can either keep him as a live alongside piggie or take him rescue dating when the rescues open up again. Where he will be able to choose a new friend

Thank you so much for your reply I will see how Fred gets on as a live alongside piggy.

Would be lovely to see pics of your boys. 😍😍😍
He will probably be a lot happier and so will the other 2 boys. As once blood is drawn it usually means that they wont go back together.

My three lovely boys😍I was afraid of that hopefully they will all be much happier now it’s hard being a first time guinea pig owner😂.
