I need a bit of advice on Guinea pig beds i been looking at getting a Guinea pig bed for the winter but what sort of Guinea pig beds have you got for your Guinea pigs, thanks

I have tunnels and cuddle cups which I make for my crew, I tend to use step stools for Posh and Ginger in the summer months as Posh has such dense fur and gets very sweaty in anything fleecy

Our boys love the Fuzzbutt cubes I got them last winter. (Fleece, and 2 exits). I also recently made them some fleece tunnels that they seem to love napping in.
Not sure they are impressed with the current summer selection, of cardboard house, log bridge and step stool!

I have a question about all these gorgeous fleece beds, tunnels, cubes, sacks and cups ..... don’t they just get all wet and poopy? All your piggies looks sooo cute in them but I just think of all the extra washing I’d have to do. Do you change them daily? I just use cardboard boxes at the moment. Thanks

I change mine out every few days or sooner if they need it. I just knock out the poops when I do the daily poop pick.

Depends on the piggy how quickly they get wet and poopy but yes you just turn them inside out, brush off the fur and hay, then pop them in the washing machine when needed, just like floor fleece.
We have many lovely fleecy tunnels from @cavy-couture that we wash twice weekly and some of those Fuzzbutts houses (they can be lined with a small pee pad you change daily) and some warmer winter cubes from Ziggy's and I believe @Lavinia here makes some amazing fancy fleecy tunnels which I havent tried yet but may invest in before winter! And @Bill & Ted makes lovely padded fleece tunnels for the charity auctions on here sometimes, we have some of those too.
They all pop straight in the washing machine and dry very fast on a laundry airer in 48 hours :)

My piggy’s mostly love tunnels and cuddle cups. I make some fleece corner tunnels and 3way/T tunnels that are the absolute favourite for my own pigs. They are like a cross between a snuggle sack and tunnel and I think because they are so cozy and floppy in the middle they really enjoy them to hide away and snooze in.

Cleaning is super easy. I shake all fleece items out twice a day when doing my poo pick, turn them upside down to make them last a bit longer and when they are dirty or feeling damp I change them out and they always are dry overnight after washing and drying in the airer.

I fold a wodge newspaper to size and put a pee pad on top in my fleece beds. I change the pads and newspaper daily, the houses usually last a week before they need changing. I find the houses dry on in line in a couple of hours on a normal summers day. Wet days they dry in the greenhouse (I have cup hooks to hang them on).
I have fleece tunnels as well but they don't tend to sleep in those, they do like to run through them and pop corn or head butt them when inside.

Good tip about drying in the greenhouse, having just put a load of pig washing in I was wondering where to dry it during the winter/wet times. I can dry it in the house but one of my dogs keeps stealing it off the radiators! Hadn't thought about the greenhouse.

Glad I gave you an idea! Mine has a wooden frame so it's really handy for drying washing. I have cup hooks in the roof beams and several of those round airers with the little pegs on. Once the plants come out in September there's room for the big clothes airer!

I don't have to many plants in there at the best of times! And it tends to get used for a wood store in the winter so I should have room for a big airer. Husband hates having washing on the radiators all around the house so that might just work! 😊 Thank you.

Mine get changed at every clean so last about 3-4 days. My tunnels and cuddle cups are made of polyester fleece with cotton outer layer on some and dry very fast. The worst thing I find is brushing off all the hair particularly Posh’s as it’s quite fine and long
