I've been looking for a fleece type bed for Amber because she loves my cats bed so much I thought I'd get a smaller bed for her to have in her hutch but they are all a bit too expensive near me so I decided to have a go at making one. My sewing skills are very bad but I wanted to try anyway :)) I was using the instructions on cavycages but have since got a bit confused by it all and just decided to do things my own way (never a good idea as I'm so bad at sewing!) anyway I managed to make a kind of sofa/bed type thing but you can see the sewing threads (sewn by hand I don't have a sewing machine) is it bad for the thread lines to be on the outside? I can't really tuck them in without them being visible for the guinea-pigs.

Here's a picture

Edited to add: the foam on the bottom isn't coming out of the bed, its just a seperate piece that was in the way of the photo

Thank you :) I haven't attached the bottom bit yet I just placed it there to show how it went together. So it doesn't matter if the thread is showing?

i dont think it really matters that the thread is on the outside. my only worry would be if she chewed on it? sorry, i dont really know hopefully someone else will have an idea. other than that it looks great!

That looks great :) Just make sure that your girls don't chew on the threads as my girls will pick out the thread from their fleece and pull on it so I have to hide it away from the @)

I pulled it apart and my Mum helped me remake it. I just finished it today :) It's falling over a bit at the front but I'm rubbish at sewing :))
