My Guinea pig has been peeing blood. I don’t know if she has a UTI or bladder stones. What should I do? Should I take her to a vet? If so, how much would it usually cost? She’s still eating, drinking, and pooping. I’m buying urinalysis test strips to see if she has a UTI. I’m really scared. Please answer ASAP!

I am very sorry to hear this 😞 The best thing you can do is take your guinea pig to the vets who will conduct a full examination and prescribe the correct treatment based on their findings. Good luck x

Dignified Sir George went to vets for pets for a UTI recently and the cost was about £86 for the check, baytril and dog metacam. He's worth every penny ❣️

Please take your piggy to the vet for any health concern.
You won’t be able to tell what is wrong with her yourself - she needs a proper diagnosis.

She will need antibiotics if it is a UtI and will also need painkillers.

Please switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh her daily so you can monitor hay intake accurately. You can’t tell they are eating enough simply by watching them.

We can’t tell you how much it will cost in the US as we are a UK based forum. Even here all vets have different charging structures.
