Our 5 year old guinea pig just getting over being bloated. He is still on critical care oxbow. He slowly starting to eat hay and pellets again. My question is we normally give him greens like lettus and parsley 2x a day. I want to do this correctly and not cause bloating or upset his stomach. So when do I start given him his greens again? How much? Or is there something better vegetable wise for his stomach to start with being He just getting over this bloating

I’m sorry to hear this.

Wait until he is over the bloat before reintroducing veg. When he is ready, introduce it very slowly, one piece a day until he is fully able to manage it again without causing more bloating.

As an aside, do note that parsley is not a suitable herb to be fed daily. It is too high in calcium and should not be given more than once a week.

The safe daily veggies are lettuce, cucumber, bell pepper and coriander.
