so my guinea pig dougal will be coming up to 5 years old next may, and she’s always been the sort of pig to stay in hides and not come out much but recently she’s been coming out and just sat in the open not moving so i’m not sure if she’s sleeping but she’s never done this and all of a sudden she’s constantly sat out in the open, i wasn’t too worried as i know she might just be confident but she’s also not eating much, i give her treats she normally likes she won’t eat them, she’s had a few pellets this morning but she ate all her veggies last night and this morning i gave her a tiny piece of lettuce to see if she’d stopped eating completely but she ate that, should i be worried or is she just becoming more confident and the no eating isn’t major until she stops eating completely. she is still eating hay and doesn’t weight any less

As you have noticed a change in behaviour and loss of appetite I would step in with syringe feeding immediately and then get a vets appointment asap to try and find the cause

:agr:
Get a vet appointment, syringe feed and switch to daily weight checks as the only way to gauge hay intake.
I hope she is ok

My Lily always curls up out in the open when she's feeling poorly. Your pigwig not eating is a big concern, advice above is excellent!

It is also super important to keep track of her weight using scales, as it is almost impossible to judge by eye how much she is eating.
I hope you can get her a vet appointment soon.
