Hi all!

Does anyone use GD liners? I have 2 of their 2x4 liners with the pocket. The pigs love them and I love them but I’m having a real problem washing them.

They are really heavy when wet and they crash around the washing machine to the point they broke our last washing machine! To be fair, it was ancient and needed replacing anyway but it’s doing the same to our new one! And we got a larger sized drum for that very reason.

It’s really disappointing because they’re not cheap but I can’t risk damaging the washing machine!

Does anyone else get this problem?

Have you thought about using a horse wash bag? Then they can’t really crash around inside.

I can’t justify the cost so stuck to my homemade liners.

I do use a wash bag normally and that actually makes it worse. I’ve tried without the bag and while it’s a bit better, it still makes the machine hop around. I’ve even tried using a slower spin speed but then they come out dripping wet and take 3 days to dry (no exaggeration!).

I’ve contacted GD directly who’ve suggested putting two liners in at once so that movement is more restricted but I worry that might mean they don’t get cleaned as well.

It seems to be just me. It’s so weird.

It might be that you need a second washbag to put two in at the same time but so that they are evenly loaded in the washing machine. There should be no reason why they don't get cleaned as well with two in there. The hopping around is due to an unbalanced load

:agr:
I'm pretty sure I read a washing machine expert who said that they work better when just about full - it's the rubbing of the pieces next to each other that cleans, not the moving around.
