I've had my two boys for two months now and I was really starting to make progress with bonding and taming them but recently one of the has taken a real dislike to being picked up - he enjoys lap time once he's out but trying to get him out of the cage is a nightmare..

He even kicks out at me! I was just looking for some advice on why he might have changed or what I can do to help him...

They are about 5 months old!

Thank you in advance :D

I having the same trouble with one of my piggies. He is hard to catch but once I have he is ok on my lap but abit fidgety. He will often try nip me when I pick him up too. He has always been quite timid compared to my other boar and I believe he is also the dominant one. I try wait for him to go into his tube or snug and pick him up in that.

You may find the tips in these threads here helpful:
How To Pick Up Your Guinea Pig
How To Understand Guinea Pig Instincts And Speak Piggy Body Language
(see the last tip; use this to assert dominance, but also use body language to tell your boy that you love him - this combination should settle things down again).
