My Royal Herd

My guinea pig always looks fed up, he's got a large hutch, a huge outdoor enclosure, plenty of tunnels, toys and food and he lives with other guinea pigs! What else can I do to stop him being grumpy?

I read on a different post that you have 2 male pigs living with 2 females, is that correct? The competition between males around females can cause them a lot of stress and only 1 male should be around females and 2 can fight and/or become stressed.

Might be worth looking at a different arrangement? :)

What do you mean by grumpy?
Does he not move around a lot and interact with the other piggies he lives with?
Does he eat and drink ok?
I have a couple of pigs who 'play' a lot, and are currently destroying their carrot cottage (loudly) while I type.
But I also have one who doesn't seem as playful and active as the others, but she eats and drinks fine and seems quite content.
How old is your piggy?
Does he stay in one area all the time?
If so he might not be comfortable with the group and is being bullied or intimidated.
Maybe if you could tell us a bit more it would be easier for people to come up with suggestions.
Also a photo of their hutch area and outdoor enclosure would be great.

He just sits around all day looking unhappy and ignores the other pigs.
He eats and drinks perfectly.
He's just over 2 years old
Usually he'll sit in one place for a while then move somewhere else.
He's definitely not being bullied as he acts like the leader of the group, the other piggies don't mind

My other male (Boris) is not at all interested in the girls, he just minds his own business. He accepts my male (Reggie) is the leader
