Growth on nose

Hey, I’ve recently noticed some kind of growth or something appear on one of my guinea pigs nose. I’ve attached a photo. Can anybody explain what it is and if there is anything I need to do to treat it? Many thanks

It looks like something stuck on the fur from the picture - have you tried brushing it off if it is just something on the fur?
If it is actually a growth in the skin itself, then you need to see a vet For diagnosis and treatment. Please don’t use any home remedies - they aren’t effective and you don’t know what you are treating so could likely cause more harm than good.

It looks like Fungal nose stripe that some piggies tend to get. Unless it spreads it isn't really much to worry about. A lot of piggies get this with no issues. I have a few pigs with it and it has always been fine.

Hi!

It looks rather like something has dried on the fur? See whether you can gently wipe it off with a damp cloth.

It is not a fungal stripe; they are really a straight stripe. If it doesn't come off, then please have it vet checked as without a hands-on examination anything is just guessing wildly.

It looks like pellet dust to me. Try cleaning with warm water

My pig has the exact same thing! Almost look like hairs but they are actual skin growths. Please tell me you found out the cause? Thanks

The member hasn't logged on since the day they posted this. Please see the advice above and try and see if it's just pellet dust that will clean off or not
