I don't trust the grass grown around my city seeing as there are pesticides put down, along with cats and dogs using the grass to potty. I was looking into buying wheatgrass seeds to grow so my pigs can have some grass to munch on occasionally. I was wondering if anyone's done it before and reccomend it? If anyone has a specific kind I should use or avoid? Etc

I do agree, even though there is loads of really long grass around where i live i dont want to risk it . so I am also planning to grow wheat grass in trays for the piggies; so when i don't have time to put them out or its too cold etc i can put the tray in and they will be fine. there were some seeds in the bird food that dropped out and started growing so i replanted them and have let them grow. I then take the seeds off the top and plant those. its not quite as slow as i thought it would be as it grows very fast and when it gets long enough the pigs love it! You have to be sure not to leave it in there too long as they will demolish it but absolutely worth while! I'm pretty sure all brands of seeds are the same so just get the cheapest you can find - also cat grass is really good ! (I'm not sure if its the same thing with a different name or something different but either way they will eat it!)
