Hi everyone,

Just wondering, would it be okay to groom short-haired guinea pigs more often than needed? Will something bad happen, or...? Thank you!

I don't think anything bad will happen. As long as they are happy with being groomed and you aren't doing it with something that can overgroom them if used too much then I don't see a problem. You can get those lovely fluffy hand pads which are nice to brush and stroke with, perhaps use one of those when they don't actually 'need' a groom.

There shouldn't be a problem unless they don't enjoy it.

I groom mine once a week, along with a full health check on the same day. And weighing the next day.

I use a soft babies hairbrush to brush my short haired piggie. And a small slicker type brush for my longer coated piggie. (He has straight long hair at his back end.)
