Hello, I lost one of my pigs a few weeks ago and her cage mate has seemed sick for weeks now but hasn’t shown any symptoms of sickness besides some crusties around her eyes but it’s been weeks now and she is still experiencing symptoms of the grief but she is allowing me to pick her up (never happend before) and seems weak on her feet. i’m not sure what to do i’m just really worried about her

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry for your loss. Your remaining girl is seriously ill if she feels weak.

Please step in with feeding support and weighing daily on the kitchen scales first thing in the morning. See a vet as soon as possible. Over three quarters of what a guinea pig eats in a day is hay, which you cannot control by eye, so they can quickly loose a lot of weight without you noticing.
Here is our step-by-step how-to guide, which also includes a chapter on improvising in an emergency: All About Syringe Feeding and Medicating Guinea Pigs with Videos and Pictures

Here is our very practical emergency and crisis care information bundle to get your girl to the vets and through her illness as best as you can: Emergency and Crisis Care as well as Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

She passed an hour ago:(

HUGS

I am very sorry. Try to think of your girls being back together at the Bridge and mourn them as a reunited pair. Be kind with yourself.

If you have any questions or hang-ups over the natural dying process, you may find the relevant chapter in this guide here helpful: A Practical and Sensitive Guide to Dying, Terminal Illness and Euthanasia in Guinea Pigs

I am so sorry you have lost both of your piggies, they will have known just how much you loved them, sending hugs
