Hi all
Good news after Toffee Princess passed away last week,her hubby Greg got a new little friend the same day ! A little rehome baby boar called Titch...he is very small ! 7 weeks old and just divine.
Well Greg loves him and has suprised me by being very motherly ! Greg is a rescued boar nearly 4 and lived with Toffee for over 12 months and before that was rescued from a lonely cage and had been used for breeding i think ?.He is a gorgeous big chunky rex boar,but a real softee.
Titch follows him everywhere and every time we take Titch out for cuddles Greg checks him over on his return and licks him all over x) Its very cute and after he is finished he licks his mouth and sits contented now he is happy Titch is clean.Do boars normally do this ?Its so funny to watch and Titch loves it.Does this mean Greg is very happy as i really want him to be,he was devoted to Toffee...would take lettuce to her x)

That is so cute! I'm glad they're getting on so well.

Two of my boars do groom each other a bit, but not as much as that.

Awww that's amazing - what a darling Greg is! x)

My two boars have had so many ups and downs (5 months old... hormonal) that we thought they might need separating until recently. However, when they are both in a good mood - which is not that often at the moment - they do like to lick/pick through each other's hair and groom a little bit. It sounds to me like Greg is doing a wonderful parenting job and is very protective.

This is totally my guess but it might be out of grief. If he was devoted to Toffee, he might be trying to make sure his new friend is clean and healthy so as not to lose him... just a thought.

AWWW - so endearing! I am glad that George is happy again!

We had a thread recently where three baby boars were placed with their daddy when their mummy died and he turned out to be VERY motherly and protective of them all!

Oh my lovely little Greg thanks for comments,he was doing it again last night and thats comforting to think Titch is helping him to grieve Toffee

He'll be the cleanest pig ever! Very sweet.
Spike washed Bobs face the first time they met but I can't say I've seen them do it since but they do like to snuggle up together.
