We found a grass seed lodged under the top eye lid of our little girl last night. We’d been out for the day, so it could have been in there a while.
She let us remove it and it seemed to all come out.
This morning it still looks sore - and the eye is half closed.
I guess it must have scratched her eye/ hurt the inside of the lid.
Can a vet do anything, or do we just keep watch for a few days in case of any swelling/ infection?
Poor little thing - seems so sorry for herself. Still eating and drinking well and happy for snuggles.

I would get her to the vet, they will likely put some dye in her eye to check for scratches and go from there, especially if it looks sore.
They will likely prescribe some sort of antibiotic eye drop, depending on the issue.

Good luck at the vets.

Hi, yes, i agree, she will need to see a vet as the seed may have caused an ulcer which will need treating. The good news is piggies' eyes are very good at healing, especially when treated quickly.

Please see a vet ideally today with an out of hours vet. Eye injuries are considered urgent and are prioritised by UK vets. They can deteriorate quickly but heal quickly with prompt treatment. she will likely need pain relief and antibiotic eye drops

Thanks all. Vet thinks it’s scratched and left an ulcer so we have a some drops. Glad I asked you guys! Thanks again x
