Grass essential?

Hi guys we have found quite alot of moss and several unsafe weeds in our grass is grass time and grass feeding essential? I feel terrible not having them out I was going to grow grass for them and put it in thier cage maybe like a container just pop it in for them to munch has anyone else had issues for lawn time and found alternatives please? Many thanks

Although I must say when they are out my 4 girls will just hide and are very unsure of the outside

They are fine with just hay. Not everybody has access to fresh grass.

My girls do just fine without going out on grass.

Mine do go out on the grass but we put new grass seed down a few weeks ago so during this time, they just went on the patio with a fleece. They don't need grass, just plenty of hay

Another alternative to actual grass time is collecting some yourself and feeding it to them in their cage.

And if grass time is new to them it can take them a while to get used to it and become brave enough to explore.
I always found lots of tunnels and covering the run with a sheet helped them to feel braver.
