I'm looking to change my girls over to a Grainless pellet and I was wondering if any forum member (s) in the UK would be willing to send a small sample of the type they use? I'd be particularly looking for:

Bunny GuineapigDream,
JRFarm
Versele-Laga Complete

One brand in particular is quite expensive and whilst I'm happy to pay it if they eat it, if the refuse it's a lot of money on one bag of bin-food!

Any reviews or opinions on any Grainless pellet also welcome!

They are currently on Burgess Excel with mint, which they enjoy but they refuse to eat the black current version ( I don't like it either (the smell that is))

Thank you

I wanted to reply, because if nothing else someone else might see this thread and be able to offer more help.

My 4 have tried all of the above pellets, and the Bunny were least popular. Honestly they are a very marketed ('pushed') brand here in Switzerland, and the the local pet stores are often giving away samples, so I have tried all of their guinea pig formulas, and none of mine have liked any of them! When we got Oreo at the start of August we were given a bag of the the Bunny Guinea Pig Dream by the breeder, and they have only just finished it (it was fed alongside another complete food). Maybe it's jut my lot, but we are not fans of Bunny food.

The JR farm seem ok. All of my four eat them, and I tend to rotate this with another grainless pellet. They aren't their favorite, but they do like and eat them.

The Versele Laga Complete is definitely the overall favorite grainless pellet in our house. All four of mine eat them willingly, and they prefer them to the JR Farm. They have been keen on them from the start, so would get my vote for the favorite from the pellets you list above.
We are currently on a new bag of them, and I am happy to send you a sample if you like.

I get the Bunny dream pellets, they get munched down super fast so no issues with those here.

Thank you very much @Swissgreys, it's interesting to hear from someone who has tried all three! I'd feel a bit bad requesting a sample with overseas postage! But if I get no other offers, I may take you up on your (very kind) offer as I think that one is the quite expensive one and I quite like the look of it!

Thank you @Squeakz too - I guess piggie tastes differ as much as human ones!

I Give my guinea pigs the rosewood natural meadow menu which is grain free. It is full of natural ingredients and is cold pressed which means the nutrition is not lost.:D

None of mine will touch the grainless and to be honest they smell so horrible I'm not surprised.

I found the JRFarm smelt yucky and mine wouldn't eat them, but they *love* the Versele Laga Complete! Haven't sniffed that bag for a while!

I also give this to 2 of our sanctuary girls as Tina has an intolerance to grain :) It's very good, and Rosewood were very helpful when I contacted them for some leaflets :)
I'm sure they would send you some samples if you asked :)

My 5 girls all hated the JR farm pellets ( they do a small bag so I got that one to try). I gave up with them in the end. I gave them to my friend for her 2 boys and they hated them as well. I then gave them to next doors pigs and they loved them, but it is probably the best thing they have ever been offered bless them ( they do not have such a good diet and I have given up explaining).
