Ive finally got my grids today and now on the hunt to find the best deal on some correx so far ive had one quote of £18 for a 8x4 3mm thick sheet.

I'm so excited as ive wanted one for ages and thought i wouldnt find the grids and correx but i was a lady on a mission this weekend and found some! I cant wait to make it but i have to wait for my dad to come home from holidays to make the base.8... As my fiance is useless at stuff like that and so am i.:red

Just want to ask when i do collect my correx can it be rolled up or does it have to stay as a big sheet?:{

Now I'm only going on what my correx was like and it was only 2mm thick but it came rolled into a large tube and so long as you don't squish it I can't see why you couldn't roll your's up.

Well done how exciting is it to get the grids, I had to wait for hubby to do mine as he wasn't satisfied with my effort and decided to weld the grids together rolleyes

Can't wait to see the cage made up:(|)

I got them from wicks.

Its so exciting ain't it. I'm like a child at christmas!

I will ring the sign makers and ask if it can be rolled up as ive just been emailing a few.
I'm also in a bit of a dilemma as i couldn't join Costco today but they said i could if i took certain detail's. I was told they were only £10 there if they have some! So mega cheap dont know weather to take these ones back to wicks and ring Costco first see if they have some?
BUT i do have to pay £25 to join Costco but i suppose i will use the membership...

What would you do? I kinda got all excited when i found the grids and bought them straight away as there was only 2 boxes.

Well if you joing Costco how much cheaper given the membership cost would the ones be from there (grids that is) compared to the Wicks ones. Maybe hang onto the wicks ones for now to make sure costco have some if they do and you get some then take the original ones back. Sorry not a lot of help.

I was thinking of phoning costco tomo and asking if they have them first. They were £25 in wicks and supposed to be £10 per pack in costco but i dont know how many grids are in the pack from costco but can ask Lisa on here as she got hers from there.

So i would buy two packs from wicks which would be £20 + membership of £25 & vat so £45 total.
The wicks ones i got one pack as they were £25.

I'd definately go with phoning them and also ask if they sell correx just in case you never know. Remember if they do have some after you've paid the membership you are still doing okay and can then go back to costco for more later if you want aslo they do some gorgeous huge fruit pies for about £4.99 cut it up freeze and you are set for a few weeks :(|)

I'm going to ring them now! Cant wait till tomorrow. :) What shall i ask for? Lisa said creative cubes? But on the box i have it says cube storage. Maybe i should say both.

Good for you I would to, no patience me *lol* ask for either you never know what theirs says but if someone has already bought from Costco ask for that first. And let us know how you get one hun.

And clarify it's wire mesh cube if you can just in case.

£18 for a sheet of correx is very good....back in the day (2005) I paid £15 for a huge 4x8 sheet. Last time I tried to buy some correx from a sign store they asked for £60 for one sheet!

£60 that's expensive!

I just tried ringing costco but no answer!mallethead it says they are open till 6 today so i will keep trying. I just dont have any patients. Haha

I fully understand patience and me aren't kissing cousins either.

when I got my sheet of correx it came flat - it couldnt roll up. How exciting! make sure you post pictures when you've made it! Cant wait :))

Oh heck i dont know how i will get the correx home if it dont roll up i have a convertible!

However you do make sure if it's flat and you are in your convertible you take pics ;):))

Seriously thought make it a big tube (not to tightly rolled) and you should be okay failing that you will have to cut it and then duct tape it back together, or find a nice man who can with a van.

Just rung Costco they said they are £20 for 16 cubes. So I'm just going to stick with the ones i have as it was only £5 more and by the time i go down i would have used £5 in petrol. lol

Just i love a bargain and the best price.:))

Cant wait to make the cage and take pics.

The worst thing is we have a camper van that it would fit in but we have taken it off road for winter so it isn't taxed. :0

But i could talk nicely to my big brother. xx>>>

Haha that would be funny me swished in my car with the correx on top. Thats a good idea to roll it gently, i have a BIG boot.rolleyes

we get our correx from theonestopplasticsshop online 8X4 sheets. 12 plus about 12 quid for postage

it comes flat... i wouldn't like to fold or even loosely roll it as it would make a right mess of it.

Hi

What were the grids called at Wickes? Do they have an item or SKU code on the box? I went to my local store and tried to explain, but they just looked at me like I had 12 heads grrrr

Thanks :)p xx

These are the ones i got. http://www.wickes.co.uk/bin/venda?e..._D&C=&ARG_DEFAULTOP=AND&searchex=cube+storage

I didn't even ask i just went to the storage section and they were in that aisle, as i thought they wouldnt know what i was talking about. The wicks by me hasn't been open long so i was supposed they had them. You can buy them online with free delivery if you cant get them instore. :))

Oooo thanks! They must be stocking them again because when I looked (end of August time) they weren't on the website! Are all of the panels mesh or are some grids? They all look like mesh on the picture. I might get a set of them and a set from eBay that are grids.

Thanks! :)p

OH NO i'm too late to this to give you the name. Just of to look at the box of grids from cosco...

4 cube mesh and grid system.

Hope that helps!

I rung them earlier and they said they had them for £20 with vat. I had to explain what i meant that was fun! :))

Really?

They were £10.65 plus vat last time hubby was in there (£12 tops) and that was about 3 weeks to a month ago.

That seems a bit much!

I may have to have a look next time i'm in the area as that's such a mark up on last time.

The lady i spoke to said the only thing that came up on the system was a shoe rack made of 16 grids, so i assumed that was them she said £17 with no vat and £20 with.
She said they had loads left, maybe there was a crazy for them so they put up the price? :(

Where did you get your correx as i can get some but someone said it cant be folded?

I think you should check again before making your cage as I think the lady you spoke to means something like this [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/INTERLOCKING-SHOE-ORGANIZER-RACK-PAIRS/dp/B0011YAZV8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1259448460&sr=1-8"]http://www.amazon.co.uk/INTERLOCKING-SHOE-ORGANIZER-RACK-PAIRS/dp/B0011YAZV8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1259448460&sr=1-8[/ame] - Its similar, but not what you meant!

Perhaps you could take them back to Wickes and get the ones that Lisa got? Save lots of money for piggie presents :(|)
