hi guys
as you all know i want a friend for naboo but have had friends with males who they have ended up seperating etc...and i dont want my baby having an op.

so......we have a large cage (3 half ft by 2 half ft)....if i got a boy....is there a way we could let the boys live together but then when we go out to work...put a divide in...so we know he has company but no risk of bloodbaths whilst out all day?

i have seen this set up

i know this is a grid cage but could you somehow grid across a normal cage?

ideas please? if they get on then great but at night or when in work it would be nice to split them for peace of mind

I cable tied some of the C&C grids across a tray based cage when I found out that the two babies I thought were boars were a boar and sow. I did this until I figured out what to do long term.

I understand your concerns... but most boys live happily together, honestly! Dividing them during part of the day could actually mean more trouble (I'm not saying it will, just that it could) because with bars to separate they can say whatever rude stuff they want to eachother without having to take any consequences for it. To then reunite each night could mean trouble.

Piggy boys will rumble and chatter sometimes, but so do girls. It's part of their social life and hanging out. Who have never ever had an argument with a good friend? They will also snuggle, popcorn and play and love eachothers company. Piggies aren't meant to be alone or separated. It happens sometimes with old, grumpy boars, but Naboo is a baby and he deserves the chance of piggie companionship. In the unlikely event that it doesn't work out there are ways to manage that, but it hasn't happened. You clearly care alot about little Naboo, but I think you might see too many risks? A piggy companion is a wonderful gift to a piggy...

Get Naboo a friend and if they do fall out then a divided cage could be a solution? I wouldn't divide a shop bought cage though. Even if you get the huge Trixie 150 each side would still be way to small.

We're here too help!

Oh, and a few more pictures of cute little Naboo, or even a video or two would be greatly appreciated! :)

thanks everyone well hopefully Naboo is getting his new friend from Suzanne in the next few weeks so please pray/send positive vibes (whatever you believe in hehe) that the two boys get on and that they dont kill each other :)
