Got A Biting Problem... :(

Hey guys,

Ginger has always been the friendliest little thing and very talkative but ever since he's been neutered and moved in with Skittles he doesn't chatter to us and bites at me when i got to get him out the cage, he's drawn blood twice now and it's actually making me vary wearing of him... and i didn't think i would be nervous of a guinea pig.

I'm not sure why he is acting like this, we haven't treated him any differently and he still getting as many hugs but will this behavior calm down once he's been with Skittles a few months?

Why do you think this is and how can i overcome it as i love him to bits?

whatever you do if he bites you when you have him out of his cage DO NOT put him back in, this will then make him realise that he can bite to get whatever he wants. If he bites you pull your hand away and then just smooth him. hopefully he'll stop soon!

Thank you, I'll give it a try and hopefully he'll stop it again! :)
 
Do you wash your hands before handling him? He could be smelling food or something else tasty of your hands. If not, hopefully he will stop once he's been settled with her for a while.

Yup always make sure i wash them if I've been handling anything before hand, thank for the advice! :)
 
he seems to be a tad calmer and will let me stroke him in cage again but still isn't keen if i go pick him up, i think he might just need to settle with skittles hopefully! :)
