Hi all, I have recently set up a blog all about care of guinea pigs, I'd really appreciate if anyone was interested in visiting it. I post a new blog ever Friday which topics can be suggested by vistors of the blog! It's only in it's early stages but I hope it will be informative and helpful!

We currently have four girls, Cookie our eldest at nearly six, Vimto and Sarsaparilla around three and Widget who will two in Jan.

Here's some feedback on your blog that I browsed in my phone.

I found the Android site very user-unfriendly. The layout is not intuitive and doesn't lead to enjoyable reading. In fact, it was only by chance that I found the articles. I wanted to leave a comment but couldn't see how to do that.

You should get someone to proofread before you post. The page about animal research has several errors.

I like to see an author's bio on a blog. Tell us more about yourself.
 
If your serious about the quality of your blog, you really must pay attention to grammar. I can't believe you wrote "you's" twice.

Nice looking on a PC, but I agree with the comments above on proof reading - I found spelling errors on the care, health and housing pages and your grammar isn't right in places either.

@Gimz I'm glad you picked up my intentional error. Put yourself forward for the proofreader role.
 
Sadly it's a great part of my job - I work in human resources as a recruiter and I must check through hundreds of CVs every week. Sorry got no wish to do much of it in my spare time too!
 
Yeah the layout is really good. Very easy to navigate.

Quick question! What kind of topics would you all like to see being written about in the blog and posts?
 
It's difficult because you are trying to fill a gap with information that is already readily available to people, for example on these forums and what is on guinealynx too. I don't mean to dull your enthusiasm but I would always go to here to chat and ask the knowledgable about things and guinealynx for the indepth reference information. If you are going to do well with your site then as others said above, it needs to be personal and maybe offer something else. Definately photos and stories from your own pigs, but maybe also GP items for sale that you make yourself, or if you can't make things then you could maybe have a price comparison section for all those people that have little businesses making GP items. You could get them to send you a sample and do reviews and pros and cons of each. I know that people regularly ask on here about who makes pigloos / tunnels / fleece items etc. so a price / quality comparison section might do well. Maybe you could have a fun section too where you collected funny GP pictures / graphics / games / songs / poems from around the net.

I know I haven't really answered your question about blog posts, but maybe there is some other ideas above which will help you with your site.
 
@Gimz Thanks I'll do my best to incorporate more unique and personal content to the website. Your suggestion to add in a price comparison of Pigloos etc is a great idea and I will certainly look into doing it :) Much appreciated.
