Just asking for some good healing thoughts from some piggie people. My girl Pheobe will be 4 this coming October. Last week I noticed she was loosing weight but all her behaviors were fine. Being the way I am - off to the vet we were, it was not the news I was hoping. She has a small stone and a mammary tumor. A plan is in place she will try to pass the stone and will need surgery for the tumor. Mammary tumor removal is in about a week and if the stone is still there they will also remove it then. I’m trying to keep a positive attitude but as we know surgery is a lot for a little piggie. I don’t really know I guess just looking for success story’s or any similar situations with a positive outcome. She’s the last of my original pack and I love them all so much but I will be devastated. Any words of advise is much appreciated!

Hi! Unfortunately, I can't offer any advice as I haven't been in a similar situation yet with my piggies, but I'm sending positive vibes your way and well wishes to your piggy. Hopefully, a member who has been down a similar road as you will be along soon.

Wishing the best for your piggie.

Fingers and paws crossed for your little one, hope it will all be alright. Do keep us updated ❤

Finger all crossed for your little lady x
My old rainbow piggie Bill had two mammary tumours removed when he was four years old and he sailed through the operation with no problems whatsoever, he’s on the left in my avatar. Here’s a photo of his wound the following day. Make sure you are fully prepared with syringes (have a look at the syringe feeding guide) and a bag of critical care just in case she isn’t feeling like eating much the first day, but they are amazing how they pull round x

I haven’t had any with stones or mammary tumours, but one of my girls had two operations in the space for four months when she was four years old, but she took the ops well and recovered from the anaesthetic fine.
Hope it goes well!

Sending healing vibes for Phoebe!

My sow Winifred had a mammary lump removed 18 months ago, when she was 4 years old or so. She made a quick recovery without any problems. The lump was found to be benign when it was lab tested afterwards, not a tumour. Hope it all goes well for your piggie too x

Thank you all for the information and the pictures! It really means a lot - I may silly but I feel good vibes help. I scheduled her appointment for the 24th. The critical care is a great idea and I will certainly be getting some to have on hand. Again can’t thank enough for the good recovery stories and wishes. I will certainly let you know how it goes on the 24th. I attached a picture of my girls Pheebs is the white short hair - she’s such a sweet girl. 6114D577-46D0-4A41-B447-5DC09F7369E5.webp6114D577-46D0-4A41-B447-5DC09F7369E5.webp16062549-69C1-4E1C-91D5-CDF1B3442CA9.webp

Such a great idea. I will certainly get some critical care to have on hand for her as she’s already lost some weight.

Such a great idea, I will certainly be getting some critical care to have on hand. Thank you for sharing it gives me piece of mind as I’m an so nervous about her and the anesthesia. Bill was very handsome and you other piggie reminds me of my Pheebs! ❤️

Can’t thank everyone enough for their good thought and success stories. My girl is out of surgery and recovering well. She had her mammary mass removed and she was spayed. The stone passed on its own and her bladder/urine looked great! I’m so happy! Now hopefully with some simple dietary adjustments she can enjoy the rest of her days uneventfully.

Again thanks to everyone ❤️❤️

Great news, thanks for the update 👍Hope Phoebe makes a swift recovery.
Are you going to have the lump lab tested to find out what it was?
Yes they are going to do a cytology to confirm hopefully not cancerous. They don’t believe it was but of course going to confirm. Thank you! So excited to get her home
